Just Wild about Harry: for the benefit of Long Island Cares
Three dozen of Long Island's top musicians and singer songwriters, organized into 18 acts, will pay tribute to Huntington's most beloved songwriter-humanitarian by playing some of his most beloved songs, including hits, fan favorites, and deep tracks.

About the event
For over two decades, Long Island pro musicians and songwriters have come together every summer to celebrate one of their own, the late, beloved Harry Chapin. In his career, cut short by his tragic death in a 1981 car crash on the Long Island Expressway, Harry established himself as one of the nations premier balladeers, weaving stories in song that tugged at the heart and imagination. And he parlayed that fame into an ongoing cause to end hunger in America and around the world, a need that still is keenly felt today.
Drawn from Long Island's folk and rock communities, the participating musicians will make the songs their own, offering their custom interpretations of Harry's work. The event is organized and hosted by Long Island performing songwriter and Folk Music Society of Huntington Board Member Stuart Markus.
